PoE (Power Over Ethernet) is a technology that allows transfer of electrical power, along with data, over twisted pair cables. Finding a power supply is a common obstacle in LAN installations: PoE allows you to power wireless access points or other equipment via a Cat 5 cable without the need to have a separate power source available. You simply connect a power supply of the required voltage via the 2.1mm DC connector, then tap it where you need it at the other end. Kit includes power input lead with 2.1mm DC socket and power output lead with 2.1mm DC plug.
